Case Background

On June 25th, 2020, Sable Permian Resources, LLC and certain of its affiliates (“SPR”), in order to facilitate a restructuring, filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas (the “Bankruptcy Court”).  On January 3, 2022, the Final Decree closing the final chapter 11 cases was entered.  

Important Information & Dates

Plan & Disclosure Statement

On January 26, 2021, the Debtors filed their Third Amended Plan of Reorganization and the Disclosure Statement related thereto.  On January 29, 2021, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving the Disclosure Statement.  On January 29, 2021, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order confirming the Plan.  On February 1, 2021, the Effective Date of the Plan occurred, and the Plan was consummated.

Deadline to File Claims

The Bankruptcy Court has set the following deadlines for filing proofs of claim against the Debtors:

  • General Claims Bar Date:  September 21, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. (CT)
  • Governmental Claims Bar Date: December 28, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. (CT)

Sale of Assets

On June 29, 2020, the Debtors filed a motion to sell substantially all of their assets. On August 11, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving bidding and auction procedures in connection with such sale.

Hearing on First Day Motions

A hearing on the Debtors' First Day Motions was held on June 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (CT) before the Honorable Marvin Isgur, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, in Courtroom 404, 4th Floor, 515 Rusk Street, Houston, Texas 77002.  A final hearing on certain of the First Day Motions was held on July 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (CT).
