Case Background

On June 25, 2018, Geokinetics Inc. and 8 affiliated debtors (collectively, the "Debtors") each filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. The cases are pending before the Honorable David R. Jones and are jointly administered under Case No. 18-33410.  On October 1, 2018, an order was entered dismissing the case of Geokinetics (Australasia) Pty. Ltd.

Important Information & Dates

A hearing on the Debtors' First Day Motions was held on June 26, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. (Prevailing Central Time) before the Honorable David R. Jones, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, 515 Rusk Street, Courtroom 400, Houston, TX 77002

A final hearing on certain First Day Motions was held on July 12, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. (Prevailing Central Time).

Deadline to File Claims

The Bankruptcy Court has set the following deadlines for filing proofs of claim against the Debtors:

General Bar Date (all creditors other than Governmental Units): August 28, 2018

Governmental Units Bar Date: December 24, 2018

Plan and Disclosure Statement

On September 7, 2018 the Debtors filed their Plan of Liquidation and the Disclosure Statement related thereto.  On September 11, 2018, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving the Disclosure Statement.  On October 19th, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order confirming the Plan.  On October 31, 2018, the Effective Date of the Plan occurred, and the Plan was consummated.
