Case Background

On October 12, 2020, MD America Energy Holdings, Inc. and 5 affiliated debtors (collectively, the "Debtors") each filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.  The cases were pending before the Honorable David R Jones, and are jointly administered under Case No. 20-34967.  On January 31, 2022, the court entered an order closing these chapter 11 cases.

Deadline to File Claims

The Bankruptcy Court has set the following deadlines for filing proofs of claim:

  • General Claims Bar Date: November 11, 2020, at 5:00 p.m., prevailing Central Time
  • Governmental Bar Date: April 12, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., prevailing Central Time

Plan and Disclosure Statement Hearing

On October 12, 2020, the Debtors filed their Plan or Reorganization and the Disclosure Statement related thereto.  On December 14, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order approving the Disclosure Statement.  On December 28, 2020, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order confirming the Plan.  On December 24, 2020, the Effective Date of the Plan occurred, and the Plan was consummated.  Please click below to view and download the Debtors' Plan and Disclosure Statement:
